Issues and Scope
The Waste Management Division was created in early 2008, and grew rapidly to the point at which early in the 4th quarter of 2008 turnover was in excess of £100k per week. This growth exceeded the capacity and capabilities of the in-situ management.

Kevin Higgs of Proffitt Consultants was appointed to project manage the business unit whilst a permanent General Manager was recruited.
The main areas addressed were;

- Identifying cost improvement plans
- Managing Waste Division Commercial Manager and Site Manager
- Liaising with stakeholders including main Board, RSPB, and Natural England
- Managing legal aspects of operation

The outputs were as follows;
- Business development and sales leads planning introduced. This process trebled the sales pipeline
- Web site created
- Competitors identified and preliminary analysis completed
- Reduced annual costs by £500k per annum. Identified a further £350k of cost savings
